That's cool, man. I haven't been very good to my Rock in the past. I looked down on it as cheap (as in "cheap junk" kind of cheap). The more I have looked at it and handled it over the past few days, the more I am starting to really dig it. I need a newfangled finish, but it is a good, reliable little shooter.

    Congrats!

I really love the look of the stainless finishes, but couldn't find one in my price range.

Welcome to the 1911 club. Excellent carry guns. I feel very safe wearing my cocked-n-locked Kimber Tactical Ultra II, or a Glock. No other pistol seems to allow for as accurate of a 1st shot as all that follow it, at least in my hands.

Congrats on your first 1911! I am certain it won't be your last. My first 1911 was the Springfield Armory Loaded Champion LW, and it certainly wasn't my last.

Good choice, too bad you are going to have to buy and buy 1911's to satisfy the sickness.

    Enjoy the Rock!

Fantastic! Have you started working on your 1911 short list yet? You do know that you are now into a lifetime addiction, don't you? Ain't it sweet!?!
    Enjoy your new companion.
The 1911 carries very well. Works best, on me at least, at 3:30, either IWB or on belt, depending on what else I'm wearing. I picked up some fine leather for it at Pure Kustom - the Black Ops.
Give us a range report as soon as you can. Be Safe!

    Thumbs up

Welcome to the club. I'm a Springer guy but a bud has your 1911 and it's a solid performer. Enjoy it, shoot safe and have fun!

My short list includes a new finish, grips, trigger, and maybe a different hammer. I plan to make it to the range this Saturday along with a new to me Colt AR-15. Also plan to take the rest of the family (see signature) except the 30-06 (too expensive).
