    You guys are so traditional!

I actually like both of those and didn't see the 220 when checking out the GSR.

I bet that the GSR is awesome looking in your hand. Is it over kill? not for me, but it might be for you, but you can have it done the way you want, it's called customization.

I can also see a market for the 220 as I am a 1911 guy and would transition into the SA 220 well and not have to train the motor skills again because I am so use to the 1911. I think it is a smart move for SIG if they were to market the SA 220.

I would buy that SA 220 in a minute! the GSR although I think it looks good and I love custom stuff like that but I probably wouldn't and just stay with the real 1911 platform.

Edited: Cause my post made no sense at all. I think I got it now!

Train and train hard, you might not get a second chance to make a first impression!

    The SIG SAO

Damn...that would be a VERY TOUGH initial transition for me.
I like it though. It is sleek & slick looking.

The drill marks are really ugly. Can't imagine anyone liking that. Especially on the top of the slide.

See, the exact opposite is true for me. I can't seem to transition from the 1911 to the traditional Sig (and it really does bug me!). In my case at least, it's because the slide release and safety/decocker positions are reversed from what I'm use to, that's why I like this SAO setup.

I agree on the drill marks on the other gun though, plain tacky looking and have no place on the top of the slide... that looks like it'd reflect light directly into your eyes given the right (or wrong) circumstances.

I don't like those "circular milled patterns" on the slide. Big Bore custome makes a similar model, but they are drilled into the slide a bit more with a bit. After the finish is applied it is very subtle and I like it okay. But I like simple serrations without all of the glitz and gun "blingbling". A 1911 doesn't need that crap....

Not real fond of either one. Looks like jeweling on the 1911? Is it even functional or just looks?

I'm left handed and shoot 220s and 226s and their family just fine.

When the time came for me to buy a Sig .45, I bought one of the new GSRs.
