    Should I get a Glock????

    OK, Quick question.....
I live in a military town and a friend of a friend just recieved orders for 2 years in Germany. Due to his upcoming permanent change of station, he is selling his guns. He started off with 6 handguns he is selling and he is now down to 2. He offered me a brand new, never fired, still has the shipping oil on it, current generation(2,3?) Glock 19. I know absolutely NOTHING about Glocks except that everyone says they are super-reliable, and you can get parts just about anywhere. I currently am very happy with my EDC(Colt Defender), but I am always considering a new gun. Anyway, I fired a Glock YEARS AGO, and don't remember anything about feel, fit, etc..... The offer expires at the end of the workday as he needs it gone and will be asking other people he knows after work. So, for someone who knows NOTHING about glocks, fired one years ago, Would I be stupid to just go for it and purchase the gun, he wants 420 for it. Is that a decent price for a new g19, or should I try to talk him down? I am leaning towards just doing it. Opinions?

I have a Glock 19 in my collection, it's a great pistol for carrying. I already put 4000 rounds through mine and never had a problem. It also shoot it accurate, and the trigger pull is perfect.
$420 is a great price for a Glock 19, I hope you buy it.

YES, that's a great deal and even if you find you don't like it, you can easily sell it, without losing any $$. GLOCK 19 is very popular and in high demand & short supply right now.

I'll add another yes - Glock is hard to beat and a G19 is nice one.

BTW, you can tell if it's a gen 2 or gen 3 easily. The gen 3 has finger grooves and an accessory rail.

This is true, I went to Gander Mtn. yesterday and over heard a sale rep. telling a guy that they just sold out of Glock 19s.

Do it, you won't be disappointed. And the price is a steal.

OK thanks everyone for your advice. I am gonna go for it. I hate to buy a gun I can't research and try out first, but sometimes you gotta just go for it. I am gonna do it. Thanks again everyone.

Great price for a very popular gun. My G19 is currently the only gun I own.

You won't be disappointed. The G19 was my first Glock, since then I've added two more.

Buy it for that price, shoot it a few times and if you do not like it, you can sell it for about the same price.

I personally do not like the feel of the Glock, but you pretty much get to test one out for free.

    I say go for it.

The G19 was also my first Glock and it is the only pistol I have managed to keep for more than one year.
