Just got back from the range . Great day with the new 1911 (my first). Went through 250 rounds, gun is dead on accurate. Only problem was with the mags. The factory Armscor mag did fine, but 2 cheapo mags from an online source broke. The bottom plate of the mags were not removable, they were just tacked on with a tiny weld. Well, 20 rounds into it the first magazine fell apart, then 20 rounds later the other one broke as well . I've emailed the company to request a full refund. I now have personal experience with "hammer bite" and plan to replace my grip safety and hammer ASAP, that crap hurts!
Try Wolffs mags out. They are the best IMO. A Wilson Drop in grip safety will cure the bite and improve your time getting back on target. If you go that route suggest a Wilson hammer and trigger.
Let a good smith install em for a really great trigger. Have mine set at 4.5 lbs.
