Thank you forum: My G33 .357 Sig sub-compact Glock

I finally brought home a sibling for my G31. I'm the proud new owner of a G33 sub-compact Glock. The G31 has agreed to share holsters and mags, so no need to hold a gun shower.

I still take a standard (aka full) size Glock with me quite often (esp on trips, or as a car gun). In the last year I have become a little less willing to "deal with" a full size carry every day.

Last August, I purchased a S&W 642 (but had considered a G33). As an owner of a G31, I figured the G33's role could be filled by a S&W 642 (plus the S&W 642 would fit an additionl role as an easy to access winter coat carry / inside the pants pocket carry). For me, there is also the slight feeling that a revolver is slightly more reliable then a semi-auto. For me, the revolver is quick and easy to access compared to all other CC firearms considered. In addition, sometimes the occasion just calls for a basic carry (no extra ammo) and the S&W 642 fits that roll nicely (and is better then carrying nothing at all).

Honestly, the S&W 642 can fill the G33 role, however, when it comes to carrying additional rounds, I don't like revolvers. Going to be just as easy to carry a G31 mag. I don't know what happened over the last seven or so months, but there was a role between the standard size Glock & the revolver that the S&W 642 was addressing the minimum need, but not the full desire.

I'm guessing a slim carry 9mm (Kahr PM9 / Walter PPS) and a .380 ACP (Ruger LCP / Kel-Tec P-3AT) are two other nitches to some day consider, but for now, I'm willing to believe the G31, G33, and S&W 642 will fit my CC needs.

THANK YOU TO THE FORUM. It really helps to hear from others beyond the same old range buddies and family (as wonderful as they are).

Congrats!! Nice purchase!! Just brought home a G27 a couple of hours ago. I have a 9mm conversion barrel coming for it...wonder if they also make a .357 Sig barrel for it as well??

In any event...keep your ear to the ground if you're waiting for other acquisitions..since they might ultimately be banned.

    Congrats,

    Chip

Affirmative... A factory .357Sig Glock barrel (or aftermarket of your choice) should drop right in...

You don't need no stinking pictures.

So many places to find Glock pics. GLOCK "Safe Action Pistols"

Now if I ever do something non-stock, that would be pic worthy.

I've got all three Glock .357's...you owe yourself the opportunity to try out the G32, by far my favorite.

Sweet! I compromised and went right in between, the 32. Mine's still on the way since I bought from an online dealer and hasn't hit my FFL yet.

My first handgun was a G23.

I've since added an SR9, XD 40, and Bersa.

Call me sentimental, but I like my Glock best of all.

They definitely make a .357 barrel for it. The .357 Sig was born from the .40 It is a .357 bullet in a necked .40 casing. .40 mags take .357 ammo with no mods. They are the ultimate in exchangeability.

Fondled a G33 today. Very nice!

Now I want one. I'll at least be getting a .357 SIG barrel for my G29SF. A new toy to play with with no logical reasoning behind it.

Never! My older brother (+10 years) owns a G32, and said I should have purchased it because it is perfect. Yes, it is sad at 30 + to be governed by the possibility of a brotherly, "I told you so."

On a serious note, what is it that the G32 offers that can't be found in the choosing between the G31 or G33?

I have avoided the 32 because it is a compromise, but thats just me. If I lost some weight, maybe the G32 would be better.

My though process has been if you buy a G33, for $12.00 you could buy a magazine sleeve for a G32 or G31 mag. So for $40.00 (sleeve + mag), you get the grip of a G32 with the CC of a G33. I've shot them all (G31, 32, & 33). I'm accurate with each up to 74 ft (so easily SD range).

Strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, something for everyone. Same as the Glock sizes.
