Pocket Carry : Kel Tec P3at VS Snubbie

With nice weather just around the corner. I was wondering what you guys/gals prefer for pocket carry in a pair of shorts or other leisure wear without a belt ? Thanks.

Keltec P 3AT or the Ruger LCP work for me, carrried in a DeSantis Super Fly pocket holster.

P3at, S&W342PD, PPK and PPS. What ever fits the conditions. Most of the time I carry 2.

I was considering between the LCP and a snubbie, and went with the latter (S&W 642) and have been very happy with this decision. Personally once I realized the ballistic advantages to the .38 over the .380 round I decided on the more powerful round.

    Plus, it sure looks sweet.

    I did JUST THAT tonight...
We were walking across the street for dinner and I did not see the need for my Kimber Ultra.
So I had both my KelTec P-3AT and my S&W 637 out on the bed...which one should I slip into my front pocket
    Both were equally comfortable...
    The P-3AT made the trip.

I find I carry my LCP much more that the 642. The thinner profile makes it more comfortable. It's my EDC almost to the exclusion of all the others.

In the warm weather I switch almost exclusively to the S&W 442 .38 special. Its the smallest lightest weapon I have.

The P3AT / LCP will for sure carry better as far as concealment goes but does not have the stopping power per shot like the snub. But the LCP carries two more rounds than the snub. But the snub is more reliable the little auto's. I would carry which ever one concealed better for me. Most likely would end up going with the LCP if I needed the ultimate concealment gun. If my dress allowed me to hide something a little bigger I would carry my Kahr PM9 since I can hide it anywhere I can hide a snub plus it carries 7 rounds of 9MM v/s 5 rounds of .38spl with a lot faster reloads!

Seven rounds of modern .380 ammo and a spare magazine with six more ready to rumble beats any five shot .38 ever made. The P-3AT/LCP is also smaller and lighter.

I would prefer my 642, but dressed as you suggest, the P3AT would proabably be carried.

I would put on a belt and wear a high ride pancake with the 642 and untuck the shirt. That was how I carried off duty with my 4516 and it has the added advantage of covering up my love-handles!

I carry my Ruger LCP .380 in a DeSantis Nemeses pocket holster. I have tried carrying a S&W 642 .38 in my pocket, but in some low cut pants pockets the butt of the gun would show from the top of the pocket. Not good, especially around LEO's.

Nothing better than my .32 Seecamp for a pocket carry in the summer.

A P3AT is my choice for pocket carry.

I use a Taurus 85 stainless in pocket holster with untucked shirt in hot weather.
