Very nice indeed, waaaayyyyy beyond anything I'd want to attempt.
Per your other thread, look forward to seeing attempt #2. Since you're considering darker, maybe cherry as it will darken with age and sunlight exposure (exotics are also a good choice but not sure where to find it on the cheap)

me either but i do have one idea i found some websites that sell exotic woods and i only need 2 very small pieces so i am going to email them and ask if the have any scrape pieces they can give away or sell very cheap. ill just have to see!Originally Posted by Rotorflyr

Looks like a lot more work than I would be willing to put in, but you're certainly making good progress.

Those look greatI personally dont think its possible for me to do that (as wood & I cant seem to get along) in fact the only wood projects that turn out good for me are trim that i put up in the house & that was due to a little persistence & really sweet miter saw.
But seriously keep up the good work & who knows maybe youll be selling them one day

There is a place over in Scottsboro that has exotic wood. I've picked up a few pieces from them before. Nice Project BTW.
