whats a better BUG? j frame or kel-tec p3at 380
This is a discussion on whats a better BUG? j frame or kel-tec p3at 380 within the Defensive Carry Guns forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I vote J-frame, but how about a 638 (shrouded hammer)? Best of both SA/DA worlds. Add a Crimson Trace LG-405 grip and it's even better....

+1 on the 642. I carry it as my EDC in a Mika pocket holster when I need to tuck my shirt. Great gun and with practice you can get quite accurate with it at short distances.

I've got both. Keep the Kel-Tec and get a j-frame or lots of .380 ammo and get good with the Kel-Tec. I really like my 642, but there are times that the P3AT gets the call.

Keltec is a good gun for it's intended purpose, an easy to conceal, lightweight , close range self defense gun. It is easier to conceal than the J frame. I like both and use them each on different occasions. So get yourself a J frame to round out your options. I like the 642.

That certainly brings back memories. I was a big fan of Lee Jurras and his SuperVel ammuntion. In the 1970's I carried a S&W Model 10 on duty along with a Model 36 bug. Both were stoked with .38cal. SuperVel ammo.
To the OP
Sorry for the thread hijack. I usually pocket carry a J-frame in a pocket holster. but sometimes prefer an NAA .32 Guardian. In Docker style pleated trousers it's usually the J Frame. In Jeans, I sometimes opt for the slimmer semi auto.
