Got a chance to maybe get a good deal on one of these but know next to nothing about them.
Anybody have experience with this one?
Thanks in advance...

I have had a Taurus M605 Custom for about 10 years now. Similar to 606 but has shaved hammer and is ported. Has been an excellent gun. Is my wife's favorite actually.
here is my 606...

great gun , i had one in stainless, ported . only gun i have ever had stolen. I would love to have it back.
I know your pain, I had one stolen last year. I gave it to my mother after my father passed. Three months later her home was broken into. My 606 ported stainless gone, along with about another $5k of items.
Good news though, LEO's found it and the person goes on trial next month. I have spoke to the DA's office, it will be returned after the trial.
To the OP, it was a fantastic firearm. I loved to shoot it as the recoil was next to none. Hence why I loaned it to my mother with arthritis.
after mine was stolen i went to get another and found it was discontinued . also found the 605 ported was discontinued also , but after looking for a while i found a 605 ported. the 605 never shot as well as the 606. I'm not sure why they are the same size , both stainless both ported only diff was 5 shot vs. 6 shot
If you can get it...do so...it will work.

I have a 606 and love it. It had a problem properly indexing and would spit bullet copper plating out the side between the barrel and cylinder. Sent it back to Taurus years ago and it came back perfectly indexing so problem solved. It normally has 38+P+ rounds in it as they are somewhat easier to handle than full on 357 mag's. Excellent snubbie all the way around.

Thanks for the responses guys! A friend of mine went ahead and got it but reserves the right for me to get it from him at the same price any time I want.
I have the 605 , and the 617 (7shot) in .357. No issues with either.
You may want to try Hornandy's short barrel .357 ammo, made specifically for short barrel revolvers.
