Good morning, everyone! I just happened to stumble across this site while Googling images of the P229.
I'm Kurt, just turned 21 a few months ago (December), and recently purchased my first handgun... brand-new Sig Sauer P229, .40 S&W, night sights.

My holster is a Blackhawk Serpa CQC, matte finish.

Welcome to the forums from Colorado! I owned a P229 for eight years and recently acquired a P239 Tactical. Sigs are incredibly well made and are the most reliable guns I own. Great choice.

Nice choice for your first carry gun. My P229 is from the early 90's and I would not let it go for nothing. Try finding a IWB holster from Sparks,Brommeland or Del Fatti which will make it a great carry gun. The holsters bring a premium but are well worth the money.

Welcome from WV...Good ol SW PA, I used to work in Morgantown, WV. Been thourgh your way a few times. I have the p229s older brother, the p228. It is an excellent firearm. My .40 is a Glock 23. You have a world class SD handgun. Treat it well. I agree with theozz...get urself a good IWB it will offer plenty enough retention and be much more comfortable and concealable.

That's right on my list, after the 220 I want. haha
I carry a P226 or a P239, both in VMIIs. Great guns, great holsters.
The 226 is a bit bulky for summer carry, I have hogue grips on it that make the handle a bit fat. But the 239 conceals like a dream.
Sig ownership is a sickness, you will soon want more and more. Good luck!
