Many like the slimline AlumaGrips...Don't forget you'll need thin bushings and screws too.

Thin "carry" grips on a 1911 are the cat's meow..!

A few years ago I had a 1st gen Kimber UC and slapped a set of wooden thin grips [checkered diamond cut] that I purchased from Brownells. I remember paying about 40 bucks for them.

They were pretty thin, but I decided to shave the checkering off, which made them super thin. I had to re-stain the grips, though.

Here's a photo of them after my modification....

    Thin Grips

I am looking for a set of thin grips for a pistol and have been thinking about ordering a set of VZ Grips. While I do not have any experience with the product, they get great reviews.

I run Pearce rubber grips on my Para, they didnt add any extra thickness over factory grips, in fact they felt slightly slimmer. You just cant beat rubber for grip and comfort.

    + they were great value.

    Thin Alumagrips

I use thin Alumagrips on my 3 inch Colt Defender and like them very much from a feel and appearance standpoint.
