Kimber Ultra CDP II vs. Kimber Eclipse Ultra II

So my wife has decided to claim our recently purchased Ultra Carry II. She has decided to "let" me purchase one of my own. I am debating between the Ultra CDP II and the Eclipse Ultra II. I would love to hear experiences with the two and how they compare. Hopefully I can decide on one before they are all snapped up.

    Thanks in advance.

I can only claim experience with the CDP II...and it's a fantastic sidearm.
Smooth shooter, more accurate than I am, very easy to conceal, smooth lines/no sharp edges, night sights, but I hate those paperclips for breakdown/cleaning...

I have the Ultra CDP and the Compact CDP...you might consider the Compact for same grip length but a longer barrel, and no harder to conceal...OMO

Stay armed...you'll love the CDP...stay safe!

CDP all the way. I like what Kimber does in the custom shop to make their guns more carry friendly. I agree with Retsupt, the 4" Pro CDP is not any harder to conceal and is easier to break down. I would also expect slightly better reliability with the compact or commander sized pistol. Either way, I think you'll find that the Kimber is a quality firearm all around.

The break down isn't too bad after some practice with the Ultra Carry II that we have. I have heard some mixed opinions about rough edges and bleeding on the Eclipse. I think that I may just have to go with the CDP II. Now to find one ;). Thanks for the input.

An Ultra CDP II has been my EDC for several years now. Accurate, reliable, comfortable to shoot and carry. I like the melt job Kimber does on it. With slim Alumagrips, Wilson mags, and 230gr. Winchester Ranger SXTs, I have a lot of confidence in it.

I had an Ultra CDPII and had intermittent feeding issues. It seemed that I had to be very conscious of how I held the gun when firing to avoid problems. It was very accurte and easy to conceal but I think most of the shorter barrel guns are a bit more finicky especially the lighter ones, I would deinitely go with a 4", if you want the lighter weight take the Compact CDP 4", if weight is not an issue then definitely the Eclipse Pro 4".

Thanks for all the great input. I wish my range had one with a 4" barrel to rent.
