Picked up my Kahr P380 this week as a replacement for my Ruger LCP. The Ruger is a fine pistol but I find it not comfortable to shoot. The Kahr P380 on the other hand is very comfortable and the sights are a huge improvement. As soon as I get out to the range I'll post a range report.
Looks nice. I thought of getting one instead of the lcp or p3at but i heard alot of bad things about them. Hope it works out for you.

The main point of contention is the price, right? The Kahr costs 2x as much as the Ruger LCP or Kel-Tec P3AT?
All the reviews I've read say it's a better gun than the Ruger or Kel-Tec, but not TWICE the gun.

Great looking gun, there! Basically, it's a skinny and thinner rendition of the PM9, in .380. Once the kinks are worked out, for those where .380 is sufficient this might well be the best package on the market.
What bug up the backside could the CA legislature possibly have about the P380? Too likely to be popular? Too likely to not only be special on Saturday night, but all nights?Quote:

But I do agree the sights would be a great improvement.
I also don't find the Ruger to be a problem shooting. I can shoot target loads all day long and while the defensive loads are a bit snappier, it is far from uncomfortable for me to shoot.
Still, you have a sweet looking little pop gun there and am glad you posted some pics of it!

I for one and anxious to see how the P380 works out. If it does, I'll likely adopt it as my true pocket gun and then I'll either trade or give away my LCP and P3AT. I might keep one of those two for a backup because I like to have two similar guns for each application.
I love Kahrs and have several. Despite some of the internet nay sayers, I believe there isn't a better concealed carry gun out there for the most part than Kahr.
I'm dreaming but would love to see this come with their black diamond coating so you can get it in an all black version with night sights!
For my buck if I am gonna spend that much on a pocket gun...its gonna be a PM9...it is a nice little gun though.
Around here a Ruger is $335. How much are the Kahr 380s going for?
I had a kahr 9 like ten or 12 years ago, the first one's they made, I loved the look and feel, but it jammed on me twice, failure to feed. I have been shooting all my life and carrying for over 35 years, and I have one rule with any gun. If it fails to fire twice, it's gone. I know you can do this or that to fix it so it maybe doesn't happen, but once I lose faith in a pistol I can't carry it with a clear head. I had carried a ppks, the german ones, pre 76, in NYC, and had it sent back to the custom shop , where I bought it twice. I never carried it after that.Thank god they gave me a second gun on my carry, in NY the serial number and type of gun gets put on your license, and they prefered at the time, 70's -90's, to keep it to 1 gun. I bought a model 60, s&w and carried that till I moved to FL, where you can carry anything you like, just my 2 cents. Maybe they got better, I also think that when you try to make a gun too small, you are asking for trouble. I have a Seacamp, and I won't carry the darn thing, again the new ones claim to be better, I got it running to where it fired a box and cleaned it and put it away, 10-12 yrs ago. I also got a keltek Pf-9, and haven't fired it yet, but just looking at it , it seems to have the right proportions to mabe be a good shooter. My glocks always work, as do my revolvers. So that's what I usually stick with. or a colt or Para 1911. My para p13, never missed a beat, they get a bad rap also, like Kimbers, which I like also, it comes down to the individual gun, I say to myself, do you want to bet your life on this gun or not. It seems that small guns have big problems in general when it comes to reliability.
