WHEELGUN? What's THAT??? I haven't carried a revolver in a long time. Years. I gave my 24 year old daughter and her hubby my Ruger SP101 .357 a couple of years ago as their "home gun." I have never worried about her...taught her to shoot at age 10. Have to bring her hubby up to her exalted level though.....No more revolvers for me. EXCEPT.....I MIGHT get a Ruger Alaskan in 454 Casull/45 Colt as a specialty piece.
No revolvers Ex? For shame! Everyone needs a good wheelgun in their life. You come to Tampa, let me know....you can shoot my Dan Wesson 15's or S&W 65.
I carry a S&W 642 as primary, also permitted for a Glock 30 and Para 13. The snubby is easier to conceal. Also, if 5 won't get it done, I'm in deep poop.
My primary "was" a Beretta 92D Compact Type-M, but since picking up a 642 I find myself carrying it far more often than anything else. Totally agree with the 5 shots too. Yes, sometimes I feel the need for a few more, but I figure 5 good shots should be enough for up to 2 attackers, and if there are more than that I'm toast anyway.
SP101 is the way to go. Years of it in a soft sided IWB belt clip holster. Only thing showing above the belt line is the grip. Wear an untucked shirt and it's good to go.

The best thing about the SP-101 is that it has the weight behind it to easily handle Magnum loads.
My only problems with it are:
1) It is a little heavy for pocket carry
2) My wife stole mine....

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forgo their use" Galileo Galilei
My wife carries a pair of S&W 642s. She does not have enough strength in her fingers to grasp the slide on a semi-auto and cycle it.... and she just likes revolvers. She is a remarkable shot with those "little" guns.
And, on weekends, I usually carry a Ruger Vaquero 4 3/4" in 44 Magnum or a S&W 629 with a 3" barrel.
So, I guess a revolver is 2/7ths my primary carry gun.
I have a SW Model 65 .357 (old police trade in in great shape!) that I have thought about using a bellyband to carry. I would probably carry it with the gun on my left side and crossdraw. Haven't done it yet though.
My "always" gun is te "beast", my Smith 340SC. The last two trips to the range, I didn't even bother to take a pistol. I took three revolvers. My right wrist and shoulder are acting up and the recoil of the autos really hurt.
Instead of getting old, just raise the "divil" and die young.
I'am glad i'am not the only one that
still carries a revolver. My daily is
a 3" S&W 65-3 loaded with Federal
classic 125gr 357's.It's carried in
a Desantis pancake holster,hides very
well.My BUG is a S&W 642-2 loaded
Black hills 125gr +P's,these use the
Speer gold dot bullet.
I also carry my 3" 45 colt 625-7 in a
Dillions pancake holster,i only carry
it when i feel like putting up with
the weight. It gets pretty heavy with 6
250gr gold dots along for the ride.
I also have a S&W 60-7 Ladysmith in 38
special and a 3" S&W 10-7 that's has
import markings (C.A.I.) that i'll get
around to carrying someday.
