If ever there came a ban on hi-cap magazines
for handguns would you consider switching to
    revolvers?

Nope. We currently have a ban on high-cap. mags here in the communist land of New York. Though they could still be had if they are "pre-ban". Not to say I dont like revolvers, as I plan to pick one up in the not too distant future.

My love for revolvers for self defense has nothing to do with a ban on high capacity magazines, and no, they can't have my accumulated magazines for my Hi-Power.

Carry a 1911 as my primary CCW, but also pack a S&W model 19 and a 657 .41 mag. Starting to pack the 2.5" 19 on a regular basis and it may become my new CCW. Feel very comfortable no matter which one I'm packing. Grew up on revolvers and shoot them as well as my semi's. Always nice to know when I pull the trigger on one of my S&W's it'll go bang every time. My answer is YES.

First of all, they are not high cap magazines, they're standard capacity magazines, as opposed to the restricted capacity magazines imposed on the citizens of CA, NJ, NY etc.

High capacity magazines is an anti-gun term, invented by the media, to scare all of the .

Let's all stop calling them high cap magazines.

As far as changing if the govt. outright banned them, ignoring the fact that people had them before the ban; Yes, I'd consider going to a 10 rnd .45 vs. the 13 rnd 9mm I now carry.

So let me get this straight, banning high cap mags is supposed to do what ??

like the criminal is going to say

"Oh high cap mags are banned in this state, I better do my mass shooting with standard ones so I dont get in trouble"

I wonder if the anti gun crowd have considered even if 10 round magazines were the norm that people intent on committing crime would just bring more mags with them ?, not to mention you can swap a mag out in under 2 seconds so its not really changing the playing field.

    Good replies all.

I am trying to think about it like the other side.

They know most revolvers carry 5 or 6 rounds.

Antis (Then why do they need 17 rounds in a Glock 17 or
worse an extended 19 round magazine)

Thats what they play up in these mass shooting stories.
Just preparing myself if the ban happens I guess

Once they got high caps banned, they would then call 'single shot .22's' high cap...

    And no, I wouldn't switch...I have a Glock-36 (6-round mag), and a Kimber Ultra (7-round mag)...

I doubt you would see a ban that would outlaw magazines already in existence, so the 12, 14 whatever round count would still be legal for those who owned them. If they cut magazine capacity to where is was equal to or less than a revolver I might consider it. I have several revolvers that would fit the bill nicely.

No way... Even with my Glock 26 (10+1) and an extra magazine it's one of the best gun for carry summer or winter.

Not me, although I would like to own a few (Taurus Judge just seems real fun ).

I am about to get a taste of the capacity cap when I travel to San Diego in May. I had to go out and buy a 10 rd mag for my Sigma, it already felt strange and I haven't even inserted it in to my gun to see if they like each other or not.

Do you think I could carry an M203? It's a single shot weapon after all.
