    Glock Brand Night Sights...Any Good?

I am getting ready to buy a G19 from a police supply store in Kansas City. They mainly cater Glocks to LEOs. I have been wanting a G19 for awhile now and think I am going to finally get one. Here are my choices:

    -Standard fixed sights $398
-W/ Glock brand night sights (+$52)
-W/ Trijicon Brand night Sights (+$75)

Does anybody have any experience with Glock brand night sights? Are they just as good as Triicon or should I just spend the extra money for trijicon?

    Thanks for the help

I ended up ordering my Glock with no night sights, planning to install Ameriglo on recommendations from Glock Talk forum.

Both my G-26 and my G-19 came with factory night sights, I like them.
In my younger years, I loved to "tinker", cars, motorcycles, computers, etc.
Then I realized that OEM can be good.

I prefer Trijicon's on my Glocks...an experienced 'smith' at my gun shop also prefered Trij's...I trust his advice.

A thread on here concerning whether or not those involved in shootings saw their sights at the time revealed that most did not. Point shooting with focus on the threat seemed to have prevailed. Based on this, I would buy the G19 (great choice) with standard sights and get more ammo with the extra cash. OMO.

I believe the factory Glock night sights are Meprolights. Experience with both and I prefer Trijicons. If you have the cash, I'd get the Trijicons. Good sights help in applying marksmanship and if you DO have time and opportunity to use the sights to their full advantage, they will be well worth the $75. No brainer for me.

Personally, I prefer the Trijicons; the dots seem to be a bit more distinct than the Glock(Mep) nightsights.

But that's just a personal preference; I don't think there's anything wrong with the Glock nightsights--my G36 has them, and they work fine.

Get the base Glock sights and then go over to Ameriglo.net to spend the difference on a set of Pro Operators. Use either GSSF or GRADY as a coupon code for an extra 25-28% off. I have them on my G29SF (green front/yellow rear). Excellent night sights.

I prefer XS Sights myself. Sorry to play devil's advocate here. Yes, stock Glock night sights are Meprolights. IMO, heads and tails better than Trijicons. Kind of like the whole Ford, vs. Chevy, vs. Dodge bias. But I would still go with the XS Sights, and it is what all my Glocks wear.

    Different strokes for different folks.

My early Glock 36 was purchased Factory New In Box and it had Trijicon Night Sights installed on it.
    I am the first/original owner.

Just an addition for the public record.

Huh--that's funny; mine (also NIB) had factory installed Meprolights...and I assume it's an older model, since it had the classic "tupperware" case, not the newer clamshell case...

Yes, they are made by Meprolight
