    Revolver 101

As in Ruger SP101 (3"/.357). I am continuing the revolver binge I have been on the past few months. This is my 5th addition to my collection recently. 3 Smiths, a Colt and now the Ruger. It seems to me that with the firearm hysteria we are now experiencing with the market for semi-auto pistols and black gun going through the roof, revolvers have been taking a back seat and I have found several great deals on some classic lately. Most were trade-ins at LGS in the area. I picked this Ruger up today as an example for $350 OTD. Its in at least 98% condition and looks to have been shot or carried very little. Locks up tight and times perfectly. He was asking $395 but I offered $350 and he accepted.

When I leave the home port:
S&W 642 Airweight, Ruger SP 101, Colt Detective Spec., CZ RAMI, Kahr PM9, Kahr CW40, S&W Model 10-7, Glock 30, 19, and 26, Browning Hi Power, CZ82, Colt Commander, Dan Wesson PM7, Ruger LCP

I am more of a Glock guy and my wife is a wheel-gun girl, but we swap guns at training and I don't feel "under-gunned" with a 6" barrel S&W Highway Patrolman .357.

An SP101 3 1/16" is my EDC. I have a thing for wheelguns. Get the Wolff spring kit. You won't believe the difference it makes.

I shoot a 6" S&W 686P along with my various semi-autos. It might be my favorite of the collection. Congratulations on your recent addition. I think I would change out the grips, not sure I am feeling those.

If there is a better CC revolving pistol in the whole world than the 3-1/16" SP101, I don't know what it would be. This assumes one does not have huge hands, and does not need something pocketable. After having accumulated three snubby-length .357 SP101s, and a 4" SP101 chambered in .32 H&R, I finally took my own advice last month, and acquired a 3-1/16" .357 SP101. Life is good!

Very nice find, and at a nice price!
Note to self: You need more revolvers like this one.

    As in Ruger SP101
Sweet.... There is a guy who makes wooden grip panels and sells them on ebay if you are interested. I bought a set for my SP101 and one for my GP100. Perfect fit for both revolvers.
