    Kahr CW40 Questions?

Just picked up a Kahr CW40, and after tearing it down and looking at it I'm wondering if they're safe or not with +P ammunition. I see Kahr's website says all their pistols are rated +P, but looking at the barrel with a round in it, the bottom of the chamber clearly doesn't support the case head as much as the top does (I'd say 1/16 to 1/8" less).

Also, who makes a good reinforced IWB holster similar to the VM-2 with snap belt loops that doesn't include a 8-10 month lead time?

It will be fine with +p...and I would look at the TT gunleather, it is as close to Sparks in style as can be had. But I have a HBE Com III which sounds like what your looking for...very short lead times 2-4 weeks.

Thanks guys. The Side Guard Double Tuck Snap is on my short list of holsters already, just looking for suggestions on other options as well.

The CW series are excellant handguns for the money. +p is no problem is the CW 40.

The Crossbreed Supertuck holsters are extremely comfortable and secure for an IWB holster. I own a lot of IWB holster by many makers for several CCW guns and this is the most comfortable for long duration carry.

Frankly, I'd like to know where you find +p .40S&W. Haven't seen any for the past oh....4 or 5 years, pretty sure it's not made.

You'll be fine. Save a few of your fired brass and compare it to that of a glock. The discolored area is the unsupported portion of it - the Kahr's is hardly anything compared to the Glock's.

Picked up 6-20rd boxes of Buffalo Bore 155gr JHP +P ammo back in January from Midway USA. Was pretty much the only JHP they had in stock.

As far as I know, there is no +p ammo in 40 S&W cal. It's already a high pressure round.

Your Kahr is fine, not aware of +P .40 ammo. Take a look at an Mtac by Comptac for a comfy, secure, easy to draw from holster that you won't wait months for.

Ditto. That sure is a zinger of a round - usually 135 grains are pushing those kinds of velocities.

I currently have CorBon 165 grains in mine - and I know it's going to give a heck of a whallup when it releases its kaboom. I can only imagine those.

Finally made a decision tonight regarding a holster and ordered a M-TAC holster and a Crossbreed Tuckable double mag holder.
