    Advice please!

My dad has an oppertunity to trade straight up, a Colt model 1903 32 for a S&W model 19-4 .357 mag revolver. I know nothing about revolvers but the guy at the local gun shop says he would do it in a heartbeat. He said the Smith is one of the most reliable guns and is more versatile. Both guns, in my opinion are in great shape. I however am no expert or appraiser. Any help from you ,my brothers and sisters in arms, would be much appreciated.

Keep what you have and buy the S&W.

I've never handled either one. Assuming that both are reliable guns, if it is to carry I would keep the Colt. Otherwise, I would trade for the 19-4.

As much as I like the Smith & Wesson Model 19 revolver I'd probably keep the little Colt. This deal is tough. Relative condition of the two come into play here.

Another consideration is that if the outcome of this potential trade is to become his "do-anything" handgun then it's the Model 19 for certain.

I would say just buy the S&W, later on you'll end up wishing you had the colt back if you do it.

From a practical standpoint, the S&W is better.

The Colt may be more valuable depending on condition and #'s.

Keep the colt buy the S&W. Here's a classic phrase I always hear from people who trade,' Man I wish I still had that gun.'

Those Colts are sweet little guns. I kinda razzed my buddy about his until I picked it up. Very nice little pistol, even though I'd want a bigger caliber for carrying. But hang on to that Colt.
