    Confirm my New Glock Logic

    Hi guys,
I am absolutely loving my new Glock 26. It is such a great size for CCW and it handles like a dream. I am now interested in buying one of its full size brothers.

Prior to buying the G26 I was torn between it and the Glock 19. However, I am now drawn to the Glock 17. Here is my logic. Since I will be using my Glock 26 for CCW and this new gun would be a range gun and home defense weapon, I should go for the full size with the best round capacity and the longest sight radius.

So weight in: Glock 19 or Glock 17 for my next purchase?

Either would be fine, I've got both...that said, I don't think you give up anything by having the 19 instead of the 17 and the 19 carries almost as well as the 26 in terms of concealment.

If I had to choose between them, I'd go with the 19 but that's just me.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

+1 for the 19. It will serve well as a HD gun, but is also small enough to comfortably CC should you want to carry two guns.

Flip a coin, both are excellent. I'd probably go with the 19 though.

I'm going to go with SIXTO and say it doesn't really matter. If you know for sure that you are going to use it just for a range gun and HD gun then the 17 would be just fine. If you ever think you might want to carry something a bit larger, possibly for winter carry, then the 19 would be the way to go.

Wow. I am surprised at the overwhelming response for the Glock 19. Keep the opinions coming and thanks for your input so far.

+ whatever the count should be for the G19....
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

17 (just cause pretty much everyone else so far said 19)

Add another vote for the 19. If you really want just a range gun, look at a 34.

I carry the Glock 19 and I love it. I'm pretty sure that you can buy higher capacity magazines, in 9mm, that you can use with your Glock 19 for home defense. Call me crazy, but I think you can get by with only fifteen rounds.

    Go 19

I've got a 19 I use for HD and CC. Works well for both.

+1 for the G19, as for capacity you can fit all G17 mags upto and including 33 rounder.

Either way youre only talking 2 rounds difference between G19 and G17 standard mag.

Sight radius ?, unless your target >25 yards away Im not sure the 1" reduction in sight radius is going to make much difference, and even at 50 yards the G19 is plenty accurate in well practiced hands.

If anything a shorter sight radius give you faster target acquisition which is a good thing.

Get yourself a led tactical light for the tac rail as well, helps keep your muzzle down with some extra weight and of course good for night time target acquistion.

I would go with the 19 as well so you can conceal it too if you want. You can also use the G17 or G19 magazines in your 26.
