    Buying new 1911 tomorrow

Alright, the bonus check is here.

I've been looking around the shops and have narrowed it down to 2:

    Colt Commander for $899
    or
    SW1911 for $835

    both in 45

I'm almost dead set on the Colt, but saw this gorgeous SW today that made me hold out for another day. Just wanted to see if anyone had any reason for me to go with the Smith over the Colt.

    Thanks

Hmm, at first look, I'd say the Colt. BUT, the SW has a lot of features the Colt probably does not. One major item is the sights. I cant stand the standard Colt sights.

Go for the Colt. Sights are an easy fix and IMO it's the better of the two!

The Colt of course is the Old Standard....and they are pretty nice, but for the money...I would personally buy the Smith...just more features and overall combat ready.

My S&W 1911pd has been fine, no problems.

I would suggest the Colt, like all other purchases, you have to decide which feels better in YOUR hand...ask ten people and get 10 different views.

Stay armed...with something, even if it's not a Kimber...stay safe!

My opinion carries no weight as I don't (yet) have a 1911.

But I'd say go with the Kimber, LOL

Just kidding, I'd go with the Colt, I've come close over the years to buying a commander stainless.

Either pistol is very nice, Colt if you want more return on your investment later.

I know of people who rave about their S&W 1911s but I also see a lot of them for sale at a reduced price. I do not have either handgun but would comment that out of the 3 1911s I have the commander size one feels the best.
