That is an awesome weapon. Very thin and concealable. Very controllable in 9mm. If it is a decent deal get it I am sure you wont regret it. To me it is the ultimate in CCW 9mm 1911s.

I don't think they get much better in a 1911 9MM platform but they are salty $$$$.

I love the EMP in evry way but the price tag. The Kimber UC is a great alternative FYI.....reports on them are pretty good. If money is not the issue....I would go EMP

The EMP was designed from the ground up to be a 9mm 1911. To me that trumps all other chopped compact 9mm 1911s

Go online (i.e. GunBroker.com) and have it shipped to your FFL. That is usually only about $25.00 to do that FYI

I really like the EMP (despite the billboard-style "ad" on the slide) and am a fan of SA, but I have to agree with the previous comment about the cost. For $1,000+ you can get a Dan Wesson 1911. While the DW is no compact gun, it's still a work of greatness.

The plus to the EMP is that, as I understand it, it was built from scratch as a 1911 made to be chambered for the 9mm round.

S&W also makes a 3" compact, but I think it is in .45 acp.

I want one so bad. I got a chance to dry fire one and it was one of the crispest triggers I've pulled! One day... in the mean time I'm building an AR, but after that!

I shoot one at the range I am a member at all the time (free rentals for members). If I had the $$, I'd buy one.

I like mine, in some ways a lot, but have a few nits to pick. One is the size. It seems to me with the almost full-size grip, a four inch barrel would make more sense. Either that or reduce the grip's length a bit. Its not really a small gun. I love the feel of the grip; I have short fingers and is one of the few guns I can securely manage one-handed. Mine took a long time to break in, which is to be expected. It is made to tight tolerances, and I shot some old reloads in it and had a failure to feed which was so bad I had to get the range gunsmith to take the gun apart for me. In short, this is not a throw it in the truck dirty type of gun. It requires higher maintenance than some others, but it sure is sweet, too.
