I just got back from my local toy shop and I got my .38 Bond arms 2 shot derringer. Its a neat little piece. It came into the shop as used but has never been fired. I plan to give this to my wife for when she works at the convenience store at night alone. She wanted something small....

If it was my wife working at the convenience store alone at night, I'd seriously think about giving her a S&W .38 Airweight or maybe a Kahr PM9 instead of a little 2-shot derringer. My 2 cents.
Believe me , I agree. The problem however is that this is the ONLY thing I could convince her to carry. Its better than a sharp stick....Maybe in time she will realize that something bigger could be comfortable as well, If it is carried correctly.

Or maybe a .45 under the counter and a 9mm on the hip. I am not that good of a shot....with 2 tries

.....or more like a 12 gauge loaded with 00 buck! I'd be worried sick.
for a holster: buy a nice rectangular piece of rawhide, fold it over and stitch an X squared parabola on one corner to fit the barrel and trigger guard
It is a nice piece. I carried one for 11 years as a back up to my BUG. Takes practice to use one handed. PRACTICE. Glad you can get her to carry.
I bought one of these holsters for my PPk. Good quality work and acceptably fast shipping time. The square flap is removable with the Chicago screws, wear it in your back pocket with the flap attached or remove the flap for front pocket carry.
