    Glock 36 for EDC

I am shopping for a first EDC. I work a desk job and wear a suit most days. My jacket is typically off.

    Today I shot the XD40sc, G27, G30, and G36.

I like the 2 Glocks .45s the best. The 36 is attractive for EDC due to its size, but obviously I am concerned due to the number of rounds it will carry.

Any practical advice from the veterans here?

Unless your shooting it out with a biker gang the round count should not be a concern in your decision. My EDC is a Glock 27 at the present but I could see a G36 working its way into my holster in the future.

Welcome to the forum from a neighbor down 75 a bit. I lived in Knoxville till recently.

As mentioned, most firefights statistically are over in a few rounds. You could also carry an extra mag and practice stress reloads.

If you are still concerned about capacity, you may want to consider another model. Some folks just never feel comfortable unless they have 16 rounds...

I carry the 36 sometimes. When I do, I throw a spare mag in the pocket. I am comfortable knowing I have the slimline Glock in .45acp on my side.

    Welcome...

    from Central Florida!

I have the Glock-36. My EDC is a Kimber Ultra, but on my Harley, it's the Glock-36.
The G-36 is easy to conceal and the single stack gives it the best of all Glock grips (for me).
I always have an extra mag with me...6 + 1 in the G-36 should be plenty unless you're up against 42 BG's in which case you're toast anyway.

    Stay armed...get the Glock-36...stay safe!

    EDC = Every Day Carry

To the OP. Gock 36 is a great pistol and from what I have heard
they are every bit as reliable as any other Glock.
I went with a Glock 30 primarily because of the mag capacity, 10+1

    Capacity

Perhaps the ammo capacity of a defensive handgun is not as important as some other attributes of the gun, such as reliability, caliber, concealability and the owner's skill and familiarity with the gun. Someone just mentioned that most defensive gun uses only involve a few shots fired, and often the mere appearance of the gun will resolve the situation without shots being fired.

I believe that a Glock 36, normally a very reliable gun using a substantial caliber, will be just fine for 99% of the situations a civilian might encounter. If you can easily conceal the gun in your business clothing and you are practiced in its use, it should meet your needs.

I have not heard many bad reports on any Glock, except of a few booms with the .40 , which I own. I went to a new websight this week, glocktalk.com/forums and there are some bad reviews of the 36 and especially there new line of 10mm and .45 SF models. The side is dragging on the trigger bar and wearing a grove in the trigger bar, they have some good pictures of this on there pistols. It seams like they aren't getting much support from Glock at the moment.

I am not a Glock basher, I own one and am a member of the gssf. I found this while I was researching my next Glock. Until they get this worked out I am going to get a G26 or a G19. Just thought you would want to know about this.
I was looking at either the G36 or G30SF.

it got all the rounds you will need if things go bad. you can drop a second mag in your coat pocket, if it makes you feel better. most gun fights only two to three rounds are fired,, not what you see on tv.

G 36 should be adequate for nearly any situation.

I would much rather have more then I might need, then not have enough.
