Whats the story on this cheap revolver?

I am itching for a revolver and wanted something cheap
to plink around with..not going to be used a lot at the
range etc. I got other guns for that.

Is $260 to much for this??

Try googling "Comanche III", all kinds of stuff pops up. Looks like it's a cheap S&W/Taurus/Rossi clone from Argentina.

Llama used to make a Comanche revolver but this doesn't look like the same thing unless this company is the new Llama.

From what I know about them and a few things I have read, the problem with them seems to be longevity. Apparently if you shoot alot the Comanche III cannot be expected to hold up over time.

Can't say I've ever heard of that brand. There are some threads on thehighroad.org that are not complimentary.

The Comanche III is part of the Bersa/Firestorm line of pistols. While not considered a high quality weapon it should do fine as a plinker. $260. looks to be about an average price for them.

Do you plan on bringing it back with you when you return, or will you try and sell it there before leaving?

I don't think I can bring it back with me. I was just going to
have some fun with it here.

Bear in mind that Argentina's economy totally collapsed in 1991 and hasn't recovered that much. We have a great rate of exchange with them and therefore our dollar buys a lot down there, unlike in Europe where our dollar buys nothing. The rate of exchange is part of the reason for the low cost.

Same with Bersa's, they are nice little guns and very inexpensive, thanks in part to the rate of exchange.
