Got a new carry weapon!
Just picked up a tarus pt1911! This weapon is sweet. I've always loved the 1911 and I finally got one. I was carrying a S&W .40 model 411 that I liked but I like the .45 better. Any suggestions on what I should do with it? I was thinking about getting some crimson trace laser grips for it but I think I need a better carry holster 1st. I'd really like a leather IWB holster. Any suggestions on that?
here's a pic

Take the money that you would spend on the laser and buy ammo. Get the pistol real hot and dirty, then shoot it more. That should identify any potential problems with the gun and get you familiar with it. For leather IWBs (and OWBs for that matter) , I like the Kramer Leather offerings.

After getting a Supertuck my vote goes for that! But some nice leather for a 1911 is always a good option. :) Congrats on the pistol... I want a 1911 soooo freakin bad!

Nice, enjoy. As mentioned above, get the ammo....if you can find it. Might have better luck finding a Unicorn..

Nice, I have the blue model and it works great. You might want to get some better grips. Raasco makes some grips cut just for the PT 1911

Only thing I did with mine was changed the grips to wood and replaced the Heine sights.

I could only afford one box of ammo. $25 for a box of 50 and that was the cheap stuff. I put two mags through it though and it shoots really sweet. I really dont care for the grips. My dad suggested buying pearl grips but I dunno how the pearl would look. I probably will get new grips eventually though.
Oh and I plan to buy more ammo soon too. The place i bought this from has a pretty good stock of ammo. Had cases of 7.62 X 39mm, 9mm, and a few other calibers stacked on the floor. Real cool place. Very CC friendly too. Didn't mind me taking out my CC weapon, clearing it, and trying out holsters in the store.

Cool gun. I've never seen a Taurus 1911 and it's nice looking - I hope it's awesome for you.
As far as upgrades, if you don't like the grips, change them. You need something that feels good if you're going to be carrying it. Secondly, invest the money and get a good holster. My $.02
