    Revolvers or autos?

Revolvers.....I would say maybe. Both make decent wheelers
Autos......YES. Taurus does a modestly nice job with autos and particularly their 1911

    Charter makes autos???
If so I've never heard of them...

Both are companies that used to have quality issues, but are now generally viewed as good inexpensive firearms. Might not have the silky smooth actions, etc, but completely reliable and serviceable.

Charter revolvers, especially the .38's are just not built to the quality standard modern Taurus revolvers are. The .44 spl "Bulldog" has been the only exception to the general lack of quality I've noticed on every Charter Arms revolver I've sold. I'd pick Taurus over Charter any day.

It has been a while but I remember them as a younger man. Classic jammers BTW. Marlin made a better .22

I own both and will stand by both of them. They are both great quality guns for the price.
