It is relatively new as I take it. And I dont know about finding leather for it. I have a friend who has several STI 1911s for carry and race guns.

It feels good in the hand, has a good trigger, shoots good. It must be clean and well lubed to function reliably. It is more of a games gun than a defensive pistol.
