Got a call today from the client that has the new gun store this afternoon and he made it back from Denton. So I ask the wife if she wants to go and look at the snub nose revolvers that she was interested in. She says yes and so we get in the truck and head down there.
We get there and after his wife shows us around the house they just got done building we head out to the shop behind the house.
She looks over a S&W 442, a S&W 642 and a SP101. She looks at a G26 but doesn't like the grip one bit, and realizes that it isn't really much lighter than her G19. She says that she likes the 642 better even though it was just a tad bit heavier than the 442. He did have one 442 with a Crimson Trace grip and she really liked that. So she tell the guy she wants the 642. I ask her about the CT grip and she said that I could just get it for her birthday in Aug. I tell her, that if she wants it to get it now so she can learn the gun the way she wants it set up. So with a bit of hesitation she says ok, go ahead and swap out the grips. I throw in 1000 pieces of 125 gr lead and a box of Hornady Critical Defense bullets and we settle up for a handful of Benjamins. Now we just have to order her a new holster for it and get her to shoot it some next weekend so I can get the laser set up right. I guess a call to Fist is in the works for Monday.
Oh well, it is worth it if she will carry this thing every day once we get the rig right.
Maybe she will be set for a while. Here is her current stable of pistols. The new S&W 642 with CT grip, her G19, and the GP 100 she has had for 15 or so years.
