Added a Kimber CDP Compact to the stable

At the gun show in Houston yesterday, we found the Kimber we've been looking for, a CDP II Compact. And it was at a pretty decent price (not like ammo prices!).

Here it is with a giraffe friend.

For those who would ask, that's a Wilson Combat mag in it.

Also picked up a Ruger LCP for my wife as well.

Now if we can just find enough ammo to break both in...

You added a great piece to your gun family.

My two Kimbers are both CDP's...my Ultra is my EDC, and the Compact was my last purchase...same short grip, but the longer barrel...the best of both worlds.

    Stay armed...with a Kimber...stay safe!

I still think the CDP line is the most attractive Kimber has. Congrats!

I would not say it's the most "attractive" Kimber has compared to the "Raptor" or the "Eclipse", those two are fine looking. The CDP is an awesome pistol though. I have a Ultra CDPII and it's a awesome shooter and very comfortable to carry as well. Very well made 1911. The only flaw I had with mine for such and expensive gun the Kimber mags that came with it were junk. Several initial failure to feed and jams. I replaced them with Wilson Combat mags and it's flawless now. I love Kimber but I do think for the price of their firearms as expensive as they are since they cant seem to make good magazines they should get their supply from someone else. The best 1911 mags I suggest: Wilson Combat, Chip MCormick 8 rounders,Springfield 8 rounders and for the best value out there still, Magtech mags.

    Excellent choice!

My EDC is a Kimber Ultra CDP II -- my other Kimber is a Classic CDP II. I love em both :)

Beautiful gun and makes me miss my old custom 1911 Springfield. That one got away when my mind was out to lunch.
