    My new S&W 27-2

I found this at my local pawn and gun. They took it in on trade and thought I might want to see it.

It's a tad heavy for a carry gun, but I will.

The 3 1/2" model 27 is sort of the holy grail of S&W (for me).

    As a bonus, it's marked Austin P.D. 2XX.
    Yea me!

    Bud,
I'm almost embarrassed to say.....the tag price was $449....I buy a lot of stuff there so I did better.
The way short barrelled Smith's are selling right now it may be worth around $800 or so.

Oh that is too beautiful... if you ever want to get rid of it at $450 I'll be the first in line, hehe.

    I'm insanely jealous.

My normal plan is buy high, sell low. Every once in a while, I get lucky.

    Thumbs up Nice Firearm

    Real nice.
Not too heavy for daily carry.
A good holster & proper gun belt will sure help make it a tad bit easier to pack around.
You should also be able to find some slightly fancier (more Bar B Que) carry grips for it at not too much extra $$$ ~
I know I sure would personalize it up a little...iffen it were mine.

    Congratulations! You done good!

I put my square butt Miculek's on it and it feels great. It deserves fancier grips. I'll look around and find "the" grips for it.
Sometimes Hogue's auction has some nice ones.
    I like this gun.
I have a good belt and holster for it. I'm sure it'll get toted around a bit.
Did I mention I like this gun?

Hello and kudos on your purchase of one of the truly classic S&W revolvers. The 3 1/2" M27 is a favorite of mine, but I'm pretty much a nut on N-frames anyway.

    "Ya' done good."

That revolver may be a bit heavier than some, but it is very controllable with full-power loads. I think your gun is simply a real "peach".

    Best.

Dave - yes indeed, a true classic. I love my 27's and if my 4" M28-2 is anything to go by - that beauty will carry just fine.

My own fave is the 5" but from practical POV and carry that 3 1/2 is cat's miaow! Great investment - good deal.

    Now - go fondle (again!).

Hard to beat a S & W wheel gun. It pays off to look in the pawn shops and guns stores for the good deals. Hope the S & W does the job that you want.
