    Pistols you don't shoot anymore...

Anyone get all pumped up about a new pistol, go out and buy it, shoot it a couple of times then never shoot it again? I did this with my XD-9mm. I wanted a "fun gun" to shoot and I wanted a 9mm because of cheaper ammo. But I find I never shoot it, when I go to the range I always take my G30 and my LCP.

Now I have a pistol I paid good money for that I don't ever even shoot. And I hate the thought of selling a gun I have literally shot at most twice.

    Anyone else done this?

    Yup. Taurus 24/7 in .40.
Wanted a .40 really bad. Excited to get it. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it, so lost interest and finally sold it.

I've got 15 or 20 that fall in that category, but I can still say I own one when it comes up in a conversation.

I've got a Kel-Tec 9mm that I haven't shot much. I bought it as a BUG and discreet carry piece, but I found it difficult and uncomfortable to shoot. I've replaced it with a j-frame, but I've still got the gun.

Not quite the same situation, but I've got a USPc that I haven't shot in about two years. It was my daily carry piece, so I shot it a lot when I carried it, but when I switched to a Glock I went cold turkey with the USP. I'll probably get rid of it for another Glock eventually.

Ruger SP101 - good gun, accurate, but I like shooting and carrying my G23 more.

Yep I have rifles and pistols I don't shoot much. Went 5 + years without shooting metallic cartridges just shot the shotgun. Shooting and reloading comes and goes just like every hobby. I have not tied fishing flys in years but have all the stuff. I have shot a few of my weapons in the last few months since I have started to CC and acquired a couple new toys but that has already started to slow down. I do plan on getting to the range to shoot my carry weapon at least every 3 months. Put selling a weapon even ones that don't get used never enter my mind.

I have two rifles that belonged to my Dad and my uncle that I don't shoot, but they are "family", so I won't get rid of them.

I have my Beretta 9000S in 9mm that just sits in the safe. I carried it for probably a year, never had a problem with it...then I discovered the Kimber line of pistolas.
Once, maybe in a couple of years, I take it to the range to cycle a few rounds through it. Always goes boom.

On a more serious note. I have to be careful
when I shop for firearms. I can get excited
very easy too...and have suffered buyers
    remorse as well.

Yep! I recently purchased a newly factory refurb. HK P7 and I haven't fired it once! In fact, I decided I wanted (and purchased) something else, so its already on the forum auction block. Go figure ~

Smith Sigma SW9VE. I wanted an affordable 9mm for a Christmas present and it has been flawless ever since. Since then I've gotten in to Glocks, etc and just don't shoot it much. In fact I'm considering listing it right now and putting the money toward a G26.
