I finished the breakin process for my Kahr CW9 tonight. As of now, it has fired without a single feeding, firing, or extracting problem the following types of ammo (all 115gr FMJ unless otherwise specified):
CCI Blazer Brass
CCI Blazer Aluminum
PCI Brass
Hornady 124gr JHP
for a total of 300 rounds. Looks like keeping it cleaned and lubed is all one needs . . . now if I can just learn to shoot it well . . .
Good to hear,I've look at the CW9 an would like to have one
but the Glock G26 was higher on my list so I got it instead.
But the CW9 is still on the list :)
Thanks for the report.
My CW-9 has been 100% reliable after about 250 rounds. Last 50 being all hollow points that I carry. Another surprise for me is the little gun is very accurate also.
I carried and still do occasionally a G-19. The only problem with the G-19 is the width. I needed a thinner gun for concealment as I don't have much waist anymore.
I'm still having the occational light strike. Last week I had two occur during about only 5 magazines worth of ammo. I'm bummed out...I'd really like this gun to work, but it lets me down sometimes. On the other hand, my T9 has been absolutely perfect every time. I wonder what the difference is???
My CW 40 has been flawless through about 500 rounds of mixed ammo. The only real differences between the CW series and P series Kahrs are pinned front sight, MIM slide stop and conventional rifling as opposed to polygonal and fewer machining operations and engravings on slide exterior. There is nothing mechanically or operationally different about the CW series and they are just as reliable and well made as the higher priced Kahrs of which I own two also.
When I leave the home port: S&W 642 Airweight, Ruger SP 101, Colt Detective Spec., CZ RAMI, Kahr PM9, Kahr CW40, S&W Model 10-7, Glock 30, 19, and 26, Browning Hi Power, CZ82, Colt Commander, Dan Wesson PM7, Ruger LCP
