There's the Taurus PT 145. It's about the size of a Glock 26, but carries 10 rounds of 45 ammo, plus 1. Shoots nice out of the box and goes for between 4-500 dollars, depending on where you shop.

I love Glocks and he likes mine, but he wants something not plastic, and possibly stainless or maybe 2 tone. He enjoyed my Browning Hi Power and I am considering that in the .40, but he really likes a .45.
You need a .45 handgun with NO grip safeties and are good for CC. One that's not plastic. Possibly stainless.

Sounds like a Ruger Redhawk with a 4 inch barrel in 45 Colt.

    My bad, missed that part.

SIG P-220R Carry or P-220R Elite Carry!

I absolutely love my Sig P220R two tone. It is BY FAR the finest pistol I have ever shot. Nothing has even come close. I would highly reccomend it to anyone. They also have a "carry" model, and several trigger variations. You can even find a fully stainless steel one if you look around.

You may want to consider getting a 1911 Platform and having a gunsmith pin the grip safety.

    An old time mod.

Given his preference to avoid polymer, I'd recommend the SIG P220.

Since plastic is an issue, I guess I can not reccomend a M&P .45. They feel awful good and much better than a Glock to me. Looks like the SIG is your best bet to fit your requirements.

I found a really nice Sig 220 on Bud's. I am going to look for one local and see what I come up with. He won't be here until September so I have some time. Thanks for all the help!

Sig 220 Carry? Available in a lot of variations. Honestly, as much as you would like to surprise him, a gun is something very hard to pick for someone. In his mind he might have a pretty good idea of what he wants, but just hasn't let you know. Same goes for men buying guns for their wives. Make him a gift certificate for a new gun or something. Just a thought.
