I sold a friend of mine my Taurus PT 1911, since he had to sell his three very nice Kimbers (ultra carry, desert warrior, and his pro carry II) due to a divorce.
I feel bad for him because he really liked to shoot those guns, but he seems to be somewhat happy having a 1911 to defend his home with now.
I took the money from the sale and bought a S&W 1911. It is the brushed stainless model. Nothing fancy, but it should work. It is supposed to be in today. The only one they had at the store had adjustable sights and the one they ordered me has factory novak 3dots. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow.
Sweet deal. I'm a new 1911 owner myself. Bought a PT1911 as a daily carry pistol. I have to say that with my IWB holster it is probably the sweetest pistol i've ever shot or carried.
Hope you like the S&W. I never owned a S&W 1911 but every S&W i've owned i've loved. Definantly post pictures

When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.
Here are a few pics for you guys. Hope you like them. I ran 50 rounds through it at my farm. Didn't have anymore shoot n see targets, but some old coffee cans and milk jugs took it pretty hard. I would guess I got some 2-3" groupings with Remington UMC FMJ and I ran two mags of WWB JHP through it with no problems. Very pleased by the performance and feel of the gun. However, it is harder to release of the of the magazines and the grooves on the front strap aren't even at the bottom. Those are my only two complaints.
I have the railed version of the SW1911 stainless.
It has been flawless out of the box for me and loves to eat 230 gr. Speer Gold Dot JHP. The only upgrade I have done is a set of Sarge's Micarta grips with the 3rd ACR insignia inlayed.
