Probably got the market price, although I traded in a used pistol so I may have lost a bit there.

However the trade allowed me to buy the new Colt along with a couple of Wilson mags. Looking forward to trying it out.

I have a tricked out 70 series also. It had approx.18-20K rds thru it when I got it from the wife of a dead friend. I put 20+ K thru it and did a bbl change(another Colt) and have since put another 18K down range. The weapon is my primary competition weapon but have killed several hogs, deer, coyotes, moose, and black bear with the weapon. I carry a Kimber now but am still loyal to my 70 series Colts. ---------

    Hummmmmmmmmmmmm.............

    Coco Bolo Grips.... Nice.

Are you going to use it for a carry pistol?
They are pretty doggone good just as they are for carry.
As soon as you "reliability shoot" it.
Good Holster & Belt are absolutely necessary.

Bought a suede lined Galco "Phoenix" holster with the gun and wore it all day. The belts I have used for a while now are the Galco contoured gunbelts at 1 1/2".

For carry purposes, and depending on the circumstances (weather, etc.) I may need to switch with the Colt Defender at times. We'll see.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. I'd been reading books, articles, and reviews on 1911's for long enough so that my head was spinning.

There are many fine 1911's, and everyone has their own preference. To be honest, I was also swayed by the tradition that P95 Carry referred to.
