    Which Carry 45?

I am having a hard time trying to decide which 45 model would be best for CCW.

    G30 (10R of 45's makes me feel warm/fuzzy - but largest & thick)
    G39 (Smaller than G30 - but unsure of 45GAPs power vs 45acp)
Kahr PM45 (Smallest by far - but only 5 rounds)

Which would you go for and why?

I like my Glock... but I like my Kahr MK9 much more. I have never fired a PM45 but I really like the feel of them.

    I voted Kahr.

Glock in 45 ACP.....simpily because with the right leather it will disappear on most bodies. 10 rounds is better than 5 and ACP over GAP because of ammo availability.

The .45 gap just hasn't caught on, and with the current ammo shortage, I bet that is even harder to get. And between the Kahr and Glock, well, no contest. Glock hands down.

Actually, some of the less common calibers (.357 SIG, .45 GAP) seem to be more available than more common ones. Fewer people competing for the supply, I guess.

    G30
    why:
    1) I already have one and love it
    2) G30 can take G21's 13rnd mags
    3) it costs less than the Kahr
    4) 45gap is not a very popular cartridge so ammo availability (under normal circumstances) is an issue
I never see it on the shelves.....even before ammo supplies dwindled

Well, might know I went for the G30. I had my days with the G30, but it wasn't what I needed for a full time carry pistol in that it was too muzzle heavy and the grip wasn't right for me. I still haven't laid my hands on a 30SF, but as for now I've gone on to other things.

I bought the Kahr, because the others were not appreciably smaller than my XD-45 Compact. (I had an M&P9c that wasn't much smaller either...)

So far, my Kahr PM-45 is performing well. I like it with Double Tap 185gr GDHP loads. I tried the Double Tap 230gr GDHP loads, and it didn't feed them well. I have fired several other 230gr JHPs with no problem, but the Double Tap with the 230gr GDHPs was a no-go.

Also, I have very small hands, and the Kahr fits it well. If I wanted to carry a thick 45, I'd just tuck in my XD-45 Compact and go.

    GAP

I have both the 39 and the PM45

I like the 39 because the grip is the same as the model 26/27 but the slide is a little thicker. This gun is a shooter, the recoil is definitely less than the 27. the GAP produces the same power a the 45 acp. I chronoed my 39 and got 932 fps with Gold Dot 185 gr. (average for 5 shots). Easy to conceal.

The Kahr PM45 is taller than the 39 and a little more difficult to hide. The Kahr is thinner. I can get a full grip on the Kahr. Although I can get a full grip on the Kahr, my preception is the Glock has a softer kick. This gun shoots well for me and I have fired 100 rounds in a session without discomfort. Capacity is 5 +1

I voted 39. It's cheaper, and holds one more shot.

If you want something as big as the 30 get the 38

Of your three choices, the Glock-30 would stand out for me, and I would stay away from anything using .45 GAP. OMO

    My TWO CENTS

Of the three listed..I'd have to go Glock based on my GREAT experiences with their 9mm(have a G19 and G26). I'm a 1911 guy going way back and believe each manufacturer excels at one particular gun/caliber combination. Glocks, to me, are the ultimate 9mm with the G19 the best platform. Mr.Browning gave us the 1911 and it is the ultimate 45ACP gun(although one has to accept the SA "cocked and locked" format to take advantage of the design). The 1911 is also an afficiando's(check that spelling) gun(in Larry Vicker's words...and right on the money I believe)so if you don't have the time or patience to master it............well : GO GLOCK!

I'm sure you have a reason for not considering it, but why no 1911?

I'm new to CC, but I really like my PM9... don't think I'd like trying to conceal anything larger all that much.
I do eventually want to add a small 1911, but will definitely keep things single stack.

    I voted for the Kahr.
