    Extra Mags vs Extra Capacity

I think this is an interesting question.

Would you rather have a smaller more concealable/comfortable gun that holds less rounds and carry Extra Mags?

    OR

Would you rather have a larger gun, less comfortable that has a higher capacity and not worry about extra mags.

I might not have time to reload so I want to as many rounds on tap as I can realisticly carry

Of my .45 EDC's, my Kimber is 7 + 1, and my Glock is 6 + 1...unless I'm defending myself from the Hell's Angels m/c gang, that should get me out of the WW parking lot safely.
I view the extra mags (which I prefer) as more of a backup from a malfunction issue than needing extra shots...although extra shots is a good thing...I'm just sayin'...

    Why not both...

    extra cap. AND extra mags!

However, my normal EDC is a Kel-Tec PF-9 (7+1) and 2 extra mags.

But, I carry my Sig 226 (15+1) with 2 extra mags as much as possible.

I either carry my XDsc .40 with the 9 round mag, 1 chambered and an extra 9 round mag, or one of my snubnose .38's with a speedloader in pouch strong side, and speedstrip front pocket strong side.

My EDC off duty is a High Power with 10 round capacity in .40 S&W with two spare magazines at a minimum. Sometimes I carry three spare magazines on my belt.

I also carry at least one BUG, J-Frame, with two reloads.

Regardless of the round count, and extra mag IMO is always a good idea. But, to answer your question, I prefer to have more rounds in a double stack mag gun than a single stack unless I need something really slim in which case I go to a single stack. Always makes me slighty uncomfortable going from 16rnds to 9 even though I know that the chances of needing more than a couple rounds are extremely slim. But, if I went by odds, I might not carry at all....

My G22 has a capacity of 15+1. Hopefully won't need all, but I do carry a spare mag or two depending on where I am.

Both is good,. But if I had to make a choice, I would rather be more concealable and carry extra mag's with more capacity...

The only thing better then having extra ammo in your pocket is having extra ammo in your gun.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.
