When I was looking into this pistol I thought I saw a video that showed that field striping for cleaning required the use of a tool that is stored in the grip of the pistol. Is this true?
Yes.But you can use your finger as well.You need to move the sear deactivation lever down.
Thank you for the reply. I thought that maybe the lever was too far in and the tool needed to be used.

you can reach it with your finger or pocket knife whatever u have its really no problem u can have it apart in about 10 seconds

You only need to use the tool if you don't want to pull the trigger after you rotate the take down lever straight down moving the slide forward (it will stop unless you pull the trigger or push down on the sear).
