Found What I Was Looking For

First off i would like to thank all of you fellow members who have been helping make a decision on which 1911 to purchase. I was looking for a commander style 1911. My choices were between Colt, Kimber, then recently a Dan Wesson. So after going to two local gun shops and finding nothing that sparked my interest i decided to go on a little road trip with my father about 40 miles from where i live. Walk into the shop and ask the clerk if they had any Colts. He said he wasn't sure but lets take a look. As we are walking down to the last counter he says " ya know what we did have 2 come in last week"! At this point my heart starts to beat a little faster. We get to the counter and there they are..... One lightweight commander and one combat elite. i take a look at both and they are beautiful, but of course i was looking for a commander. Anyways i didn't have the money for it today but put the lightweight commander on hold. I hope to have it very soon and yes i will post pics!
Again thanks to all for your input!

Sounds sweet! Be sure and give us picture hounds a couple shots of it when you get it!

    A great daily carry firearm.
    Ergonomically incredible and perfectly point-able.
    That was a wise purchase.

    It's holster shopping time.

    Yes. They tend to multiply.

An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.

    You will love it!

I purchased the same gun with part of my last Christmas bonus! Thei was my first 1911 and first 45, I had always been told that the 45 was hard to keep on target due to recoil. To my surprise not only was the recoil very easy for me to manage but my 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter agreed.

    Stay safe,

Nice addition. Which gun shop did you visit? And your not going to part with your cw9 are you? If so, what made you change your carry gun status?

@Jackle1886, My father and I visited Bobs Gun & Tackle in Hastings. I ended up getting the P9 over the CW9 last year. I ended up having numerous problems and really never got comfortable with it. After a trip back to car I ended up selling it. I recently purchased a used MK9 and have to say I absolutely love it!

I have not priced a Colt Commander in a long time. What is the going price these days?

That is a great gun, and you will like it.
