    Carry 40

Trying to decide on a 40 Carry gun for IWB. Here are the finalists. Which would you pick and why. This is intended for ccw, so carry a lot and shoot a lot for proficiency. Want something that can honestly be carried comfortably day in, day out.

    Kahr P40
Pros - thin, light, comofrtable to conceal.
    Cons - Reliablitiy is ?,

    Sig 239:
Pros - High quality, love the look/feel
Con- the largest to conceal and substantial weight

    Glock 27
Pro - double stack capacity, glock reliability
Cons - Is it too thick to carry edc?

    XD40SC (3in)
Pro - reliable and love the safety, especially for carry
Con - Is it too thick? cant seem to find specs of width. Heavy as well

Have you considered a M&P compact. Just my 2 cents.

The SIG 239 is an awesome carry .40!

Do you think it would be too heavy for a good IWB holster?

Out of those choices I think I would have to go with the XD. I own an XD40 and like the way it feels and shoots, plus I haven't had a single problem with it, very reliable. Good luck on your choice.

I have the XD40sc and carry it. I have found it a very reliable and fun gun to shoot. While it is a little thicker than some of the other options, it isn't overly thick. With a good gun belt, the weight isn't a issue for me either. If you go with the XD, you might want to look into the pearce grips extensions, they make a big difference.

Ultimately, this gun is for you so pick the one that feels the best and shoots the best for YOU. You shouldn't have any issues with quality from the Glock, Sig, or XD.

I used to hate Glocks, now I have two of them. If I could only keep one pistol, it would probably be a Glock because of dependability alone.

I carry a 239 in .40. I love the gun, but it is a bit heavy. I carry it in a VM2 and don't have a "gun belt." I have no trouble carrying or concealing with a standard 1.5" leather belt (although it IS sturdier than something you'd find off the rack at Walmart). I'm actually considering a PM40 for summer carry. Even though I'm looking at other options, I love my 239 and am in no hurry to change my EDC.

I would go with the glock if I had to pick from your list. What I carry is the
SW M&P compact in 40. I have a sig p239 and its a beautiful weapon but a bit heavey for carry in my opinion. Never did like the XD's, just didnt feel balanced in my hand.

Of the choices given I'd go with the Sig. With a good carry rig the weight shouldn't be a factor. My personal choice would be what my EDC is, CZ 75 P-06.

I would choose the 239 or the P-06 that archer suggested, they will handle the recoil of the .40 better for faster double taps.

This is not a knock against any of the other guns........ but for concealed carry the G27 works very well for me.
