Well, I now have over 250 rounds thru this piece and I am pleased to report that all is well. The trigger pull at first was every bit as heavy and long as others have reported, to the point of being very uncomfortable and compronising accuracy. But the trigger has broken in very well - the 250 live rounds and about 500 dry fires have lightened the pull significantly and made the break much more consistent. I would almost say it is a pleasant shooter at this point.
I have had zero malfunctions with Blazer FMJ and Powrball being the only two rounds I have tried. This is an extremely well made weapon, and I like it more every time I shoot it. I give it an "A" if you want a 380 bug and are looking for something more substantial than a LCP or P3AT. Not knocking them at all, I just think this gun might appeal to those looking for something different in a pocket pistol.
I would also like to report that Magnum Research has the ZVI walnut grips in stock for this pistol for $30. I know a lot of folks have been searching for these after seeing them in a post on another board. They are not listed on the site, you will have to call or email them if you want to order. Got mine today, here's some pics:
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

Really like the Handgrips. One problem I am having is leaving my Micro Desert Eagle in the car while at work. The MDE gets so hot by the time I come out of work that I can't even hold it. I have been thinking about getting some sort of insulated cooler to keep it in. I wish there were a rubberized handgrip by hogue or another mfgr that wrapped around the back of the frame to keep it from getting so annoyingly hot. Anyone else run into this problem?
Spirit, I've never left mine in the car so I can't really comment on that. I imagine the wood would stay cooler than the OEM grips, but if the back of the frame is the issue I don't imagine they would help any.
Jwalker, mine weighs in at 15.6 oz fully loaded with 6+1. Carries great IWB in a Crossbreed MiniTuck and plenty light enough for pocket carry. I have a Side Guard Rough Out coming for it that should be perfect. Not in the same weight class as the KelTec or LCP, but far more substantial build quiality and fit / finish while still disappearing in a pocket.
BTW, I just lucked into some Remington Golden Saber 102gr BJHP this afternoon - after I run a few mags thru to check reliability this most likely will be my SD round of choice. Hope to have a range report with it this week.
I would say the carry weight of the MDE is a very negligible issue for me. What I like about the Micro Desert Eagle is its footprint. It is extremely small. I have started experimenting with making pocket holsters for it and the overall footprint is very close to that of a wallet. If i get a little better at making these I am going to start offering for $20 to $30. I also carry 2 extra mags in my other pocket since this is only a 6+1 configuration. Everyone let me know what you think of my prototype pocket holster in the pics.
Get a few snap caps (or not) and dry fire the crap out of that thing. You will be AMAZED at the improvement in the trigger. And dry fire is FREE! BTW, I still had some range ammo left, about 75 rounds, and I lucked into a box of WWB today as well. Just have to keep hammering away and looking.
FWIW, I had a chance to handle and LCP for the first time yesterday at a local shop. Retailed for $349. I had looked for one for a long time before buying my MDE, but they were nowhere to be found. Boy, am I glad I never found one... Better made than the KT but still had that loosey goosey squirt gun feel. And a nasty creaky trigger. I'm sure it carries nice and if it's reliable, that's what's important. But I wouldn't trade my MDE for two of them.
