Both were on sale for the same price ($499). The Springfield felt a bit better in my hand, but it has too many frills. The grip safety, in particular. I am trying to use the gun as a backup to a USP Tactical at home.
The Glock 23 is a classic. Get that one. I own the G22, love it.

Get the Glock...why not have dependability as a back up at home, too?

I like my XDm, The grip safety has never been an issue. I am better able to manipulate the mag release and slide on the XDm.... Glock is a great weapon system, I happen to like the XDm for ME better. I think in your case between a XD and a Glock 23 though I would go with the Glock.

Thank y'all for helping me decide. The more I think about it, the more I think Glock is the better choice.
Another Glock vote here. Good choice.
Glock 23 for sure..

Flip a coin! Honestly they are both great.
Ccccccc what? Ccccccccccc Hawks!
Really, it's a tough decision. I've got a Glock 23 (ok,ok, it's actually the wife's ) and an XDM in .40. I like them both for different reasons.
But, to be 100% honest, I normally take the Glock 23 with me if I'm going out to do something and she's gonna stay at home. Easier to conceal, slightly lighter, and still 13+1 if I were to run across a situation that needed that much ammo. Since I always carry 2 spare mags, I've still got 40 rounds of .40 S&W available to me versus the XDM's 49.
If I could only choose one? I'd have to go with the G23.
Sorry about the photos, but I have to use my cell phone since I don't own a camera.

I vote the Glock 23.
There are many good reasons that it is my EDC.
