It is the same as the 26... You learn to wrap your pinky under the grip and it holds just fine,. No worries,.. Great little personal defense tool....

I don't really have any problems shooting my G27 as is without a grip extension. That said, I added these to my mags.

Unlike grip extensions these don't really add any size to the pistol, yet they do provide a little better grip when shooting.

No, its not too short to grip. Your pinky finger will likely be off the grip, but in my experience this does not affect your shooting at all. You can get the grip extensions (Pierce makes a nice one), but I find that they don't really affect accuracy and for concealement can actually print more.

Thanks for the gap link!! Love the 26 for little better concealment but with the extensions it's about same size as my G19 with a slightly smaller barrell. Thus helps keep that 1/2 inch height off to prevent printing

+1 really improves grip and positive purchase on the grip of the weapon without adding length.

Extending the grip defeats the purpose of the sub-compact, which is its concealability!

Try one out, it'll be fine.

The extension doesn't hurt the conceability for me. Because I carry OWB, I'm more concerned about the barrel length.

+2 These are the way to go IMO. They help with getting a good grip and don't compromise size and comfort.

I had a similar issue with my XD sub-compact, and the pearce grip/mag extensions worked great.

Does anyone carry the G27 on his ankle? I'm thinking about getting one for that purpose but I'm wondering if it's too heavy.

I do not find the grip hard to hold. I do not have large hands, and if I did I might find it difficult.

As to ankle carry, a friend of my son is a fed officer. My son was home a few months ago and this individual and he went to the range to shoot. Later they were in my house cleaning the guns, and I had not noticed, but the friend had a G 26 in an ankle holster.
I had thought it would not work well, but it does for him.

He did look longingly at my Kahr P9, however.

    Regards,
    Jerry
