Finally here! Sig P229 Elite (PICS ADDED)

After ordering in March from Sig, my new baby finally got here today. I just finished a good cleaning and am doing some dry practice to get the holster broken in a bit and will be off to the range to get some trigger time. Pics and range report to follow!

They are one fine hand cannon--congrats on the buy!

Let us know how the initial range trip goes.

Alright, this thing is accurate. I shot about 150 rounds today, all indoor. I started off with two strings of NSR drills at 5 yards. No malfs, 24 round group was about 8 inches with 2 flyers... not bad for an NSR drill.

Second was rapid fire failure drills from the holster at 7 yards. 8 drills total, only one head shot was out of the box, and 1 body shot was out of the circle.

Third I put the target out to 25 yards to see how this baby does with longer range. I fired 12 rounds rapid fire, 7 in the center mass circle (10 inch) 5 out but still in the kill box. I did a mag change and pulled the target in to 15 yards and fired some single action only shots. 11 out of 12 in the center mass circle, remaining round was in the kill box still.

Fourth and final drill was point shooting at 1,2, 5 yards, and weapon retention drills at 2 yards. Every hit was in the kill box and the majority were in the center mass circle.

All in all I was very happy with how my Sig performed, it points as quickly as my XDm and manages recoil better. I only had one instance of accidentaly tapping off an extra round (that SRT on Sig's is feather light) Hammer pairs were smooth and faster than any other gun I own, and the single action shots could drive nails (small ones at that).

You will not be unhappy. The balance and trigger pull makes is a great pistol.
