UPDATE: S&W customer service
Well I talked to S&W customer service and spoke with Larry and it turns out my 340M&P did in fact have a cracked frame. So S&W is sending me a new 340M&P it should be here this week sometime. I had to have my local gun shop fax a copy of his FFL as its going to him because its a new gun with a different serial number then the one I send in. I have to say S&W customer service is top notch they got my gun on June 12th and its already been taken care of.

GOOD DEAL. They treated me well with a pesky new Model 22A pistol. Good Luck with the new revolver.

I've only required their services once, but they did an excellent job on that occasion. I hope your new revolver serves you well.

I sent them a newly purchased revolver with a minor flaw and they paid to receive it, repair it and sent it back to me ASAP. Excellent service from a top-notch company.

It was a 'one time' event, but they did the same thing with me...I appreciate good service.

I had a great experience with my 442 frame replacement as well. Top notch!

It's funny, If someone sent a gun to Taurus on June 12th and got word that it would be replaced on July 6th(almost a month) but no new gun yet....and had to call them to get that info.....they would be raising hell over Taurus' horrible customer service....yet we praise S&W's customer service? Aren't people funny? Now I agree it's great service, I'm just saying.

S+W got the gun on the 12th of June I sent it the day before,a little over three weeks is not a bad turn around time door to door.
I have say I was upset that a gun as expensive as the 340 would have any issues. However I have to say that I'm pleased with how S+W handeled this, their warrenty is great. I'll definatly buy more S+W products what do you guys think of A 3" 686 next?

Oh yeah, a nice choice. I'm suddenly back to revolver mode and am going after a 60 Pro (already ordered a Milt Sparks for it). And a 65. And maybe the 686. It'll make for a lively estate auction, after the wife finds them!

The difference with Taurus and S&W is that with S&W the start and end dates will be 2009.
