    Decided on the G19

Picking up my Glock 19 today. Got it for $545 which was the best in my area by alot....

    Also ordered a crossbreed supertuck...

Until i get my holster, which from reading on here could be fast---but the website said a few weeks.... I am thinking i'm just going to carry it in my briefcase, which is really a leather bag with a few different zippered compartments. This way it will be on the seat next to me while im driving (im a sales rep)...

    Any thoughts on that?

...I am going out to do some first shots this afternoon

    Great choice of weapon.
As to the briefcase carry...as long as you are legal to do so, that'll work, but I would at least stop in a gun shop and get a cheap holster ($10) to make sure the the trigger is covered...OMO

Congrats. Not sure how the Supertuck will work in the car. I like shoulder rigs for car carry but you may not be able to do that given your job (could scare the customers hehe). Desantis sells an interesting holster and strap that fits in the front of your car seat between the legs for rapid unhostering. The holster itself can be detached and carried IWB I think. It's called the Kingston Car Seat Holder. Go to DeSantis Holster & Leather Goods and check it out under "Other".

The 19 is an excellent weapon, had I not started with my 23, I would definitely be packing a 19.

Nice mate, enjoy! Although I have retired my 19 to "night stand duty" it is still my one of my favourite handguns.

Nice choice! I picked one of those up a little over 2 weeks ago, unfortunately I've only been able to put 100 rounds thru it, of course I've only found 250 rounds of ammo in town so far.

I ordered a Crossbreed Supertuck holster and belt 14 days ago today. As of right now I haven't received it yet, but it is early morning here so I still have my fingers crossed! The holsters seem to be getting shipped out fairly quickly but the belts take a little longer. I did not request express shipping or anything like that, and their website does say 3 to 4 weeks, so it's cool. But the waiting sucks. Do you have a good heavy duty belt? If not it would be a good idea, everyone says that is the key to making even the lowliest of holsters work.

    Congrats on your new Glock.

Joker makes a good point about getting a good gun belt. Beltman seems to get the most acclaim. Wilderness Instructors belt is good for jeans/casual. Gunners Alley sells a great belt allegedly made by Beltman.

I'm not a fan of off-body carry. It's just too easy to get separated from your gun. If your gun is in your bag, you CANNOT leave your bag laying around. That bag must always be with you - which is going to look weird to onlookers.

I'm a rep as well, suit and tie every day. I carried a G19 for 18 months in a Smartcarry until I got my Glock 26.

Great choice of gun - please rethink your carry method. As others have said, at the very least get a holster that covers the trigger inside your bag.

PS - I tried "briefcase" carry and the "day planner holster." Each lasted about two days. Hated always worrying about the security of my gun.
The more good folks carry guns, the fewer shots the crazies can get off.

The compact Glocks are a great balance between shootability and concealability. I have the G32 357 and I love it.

The Glock 19 was the first semi-auto pistol I ever bought myself after being legally old enough to buy handguns on my own. It fit my hand great and shot very well. I miss that gun for reasons other than just the sentimental ones. Enjoy it and have a safe fun time with it. And be wiser than some of us and be sure to hold on to it.

I love my G19, one thing I would reccomend to bring it even closer to perfection is some Houge Handall rubber grips. Cheap ($14US) just slide them on and the grip is oh so comfortable. (see pic bottom right below).
