    1911 Glock

    Hello,

So I orignaly posted this thought in the "Overrated Glock" thread, but I think it deserves it's own thread to say the least.

Is anyone else with me in thinking that a 1911 Glock would be awesome? Hell I think they should put me on the payroll with that idea!

Are you sure that wouldn't be too much of a good thing?

1911 Glock ......That would be the Springfield XD with a thumb safety.

I like Glocks and XD's the way they are, no thumb safety

It might be, but it would sure shake up the 1911 crowd. It might go down in flames, but I seriously think it would sell like hot cakes.

    Wouldn't a 1911 Glock be an oxymoron?

Actually some of the XD models have a thumb safety. Mine does not, but some do.

I don't know how to respond to your question. After I get done vomiting, I'll get back to you.

I believe a polymer 1911 is already being produced. I could see some advantages to having a polymer 1911 in certain circumstances. However I feel that those advantages may very well be negated when one fires that plastic copy of a real pistol.

If I want a plastic gun I'll buy a Glock. If I want a real gun I'll buy something else.

I knew this thread would bring out some real feelings one way or another. One thing you can bank on, if it were a Glock it would definitely fire before you vomited!

I'd rather have a 1911 that wouldn't explode in my hands, thanks

Just the .45acp service, as a request from some LE agencies IIRC.

    My thoughts exactly.

What makes a Glock a Glock, and a 1911 a 1911, will keep them from ever being the same.

I own and love both, but they are two very different types of firearms.
