Nope Mobile one works pretty good as does castrol syntech think thats what I'm using now \\Done little testing and from experience

Mobile one always ran good and castrol too in my 454 under high load why not a gun .. Almost same stuff they sell as more expensive gun oils except its only 6-7 bucks a quart and a quart gooooooooessss a lonnnnnnnnnnnng way

Lucas oil treatment works really well to for a gun that likes to be super wet

Also ive tried most of the snake oils/gun oils out that and keep going back to mobile one ..

Slideglide i like also almost like the mobile one grease but little different i think not sure yet

Congrats on the new 1911 Euc, and thanks for the informative, detailed report. The Springfield 1911 looks to be a great pistol-

Must disagree with a couple of the gents though, Welcome into the LIGHT.

Welcome into the LIGHT Euc. Be very careful though, the more you shoot the 1911, the further from favor the other weapons fall. I think you'll end up with more 1911's, anyhow....enjoy!

I like those grips. Keep playing with it, I think it'll grow on you. Try some Tetra-Gun grease for lube, my Colt runs like a top with that stuff. Add a drop of regular oil for the mainspring and you're good to go.

Just wanted to mention a dvd that was helpful to me with my 2 Colt 1911's. It is called Bill Wilson presents 1911 .45 Auto. The dvd is applicable to Colt, Springfield, Norinco and Para Ordinance.

In the dvd, Bill Wilson demonstrates shooting, field stripping, routine maintenance, cleaning & lubrication specifically for the 1911 pistol. see: http://gunvideo.com/index.php?catego...ory_id%3D70%26

It was helpful to me, although I understand you and others here may not require it. Just thought I'd mention it though.

The more I use my 1911's, the more I like them.

Thanks for the thorough range report. I think you will come to enjoy that gun more than you want to admit.

Euc, maybe I got confused somewhere, but did you make the trade? I looked up your posts and couldn't really tell by what ya said.

A 1911 dosn't need as much lube as people think it does. I lube mine once a week when I strip it to clean all the lint and what not out of it. I use Outers Gun Oil No.445A on mine. Sometimes I use a graphite dry lube on it if I don't plan on shooting it for some time.
