    new Kahr CW40

Visited the local toy store today and picked up this guy

    Sorry about the dirty mirror.

I had originally went in looking at the CZ P-07 duty pistol, but the Kahr caught my eye. I had wanted something in .40 since I have some ammo here and the Kahr was smaller and felt better in my hands. Someday I'll get that CZ

Kahr owners: Any advice or tips? This is my first Kahr.

That's a nice looking carry combination you have. I would put a Qwik Grip #2 on it and then break it in. We will be waiting on a range report.

Great pistol, best DAO trigger of any I have tried. Had a few of FTFs in the first 200 rounds but after that has been extremely reliable. The only other problem was difficulty in holding the slide in the proper position for field stripping so I made a disassembly tool out of plastic that fits between the barrel shroud and slide to hold it in the proper position.

I owned a CZ that had the same sort of procedure in terms of lining up the dashes. I took apart the mag tonight to clean it and took one hell of a bruising on my leg trying to put it back together! lol

Great looking pistol, unfortunately with all the excitement, you apparently 'tossed up your cookies' on the mirror...

HA! I haven't played a day of golf in my life! Just your standard plaid-esque shorts! No one said I was fashionably capable...

Great gun, I recently re-connected with my PM9 and put it back into daily pocket carry while in cargo shorts during the summer.....you will love it, I love the trigger on mine.

I love the trigger on my new CW9 too. I took it the the shop a couple of nights ago and used the trigger scales... 5 pounds average. This thing has the smoothest DA trigger I have ever felt in a small pistol, and like a S&W revo, the more it's fired (or dryfired) the smoother it gets. I have suddenly (temporarily, of course) lost my lust for any more new handguns.

Before I took my CW9 to the range for the first time, I stripped it down, cleaned and oiled it up good and worked the slide several times, at least 2 to 3 hundred times. At the range I put a couple hundred rounds of ball and Gold Dot +p defense rounds through it. Ran like a champ, not a single problem. It's now my primary carry weapon backed up by my LCP. I retired my G23 to home defense.

Good choice, it'll give you good service. Enjoy!
